Decoy

Decoy is a metalcore quintet from Baton Rouge, Louisiana formed during the summer of 2017. After releasing our first ep in the fall of ‘18 we continued to play shows regionally, releasing singles here and there but it wasn’t until after a few lineup changes and the occurrence of the COVID pandemic that we started writing for “Natural Selection.”

Being influenced by such bands as Hatebreed, Converge and Slipknot we wanted a more raw, unfiltered, and angry production style. Lyrical themes consisting of drug abuse, self harm, mental illness and problems within everyday life and nightmarish technological imagery. Decoy aims to slice down the fat and cut through bone of the heavy music world.
